Head 4 Health

Head 4 Health is a PLPFA (Premier League & Professional Footballers Association) funded project with part funding from City of Wolverhampton Council Public Health and Wolverhampton CCG.

The project aims to improve mental and physical well being in males over the age of 18.

It is split into six-week cohorts, where participants attend twice a week in addition to a weekly drop in session where individuals can talk in a safe and relaxed environment.

Each session consists of an informational workshop alongside some physical activity. The informational workshops include; mental health awareness, cooking classes, signs/ symptoms, coping with stress, alcohol awareness and inspirational speakers. Physical activity sessions include badminton, cricket, football, walking and table tennis.

There are a number of local partner organisations involved including NHS Healthy Minds, Recovery Near You, Wolverhampton Samaritans, Starfish, Mind at Work, Refugee and Migrant Centre and P3.

The current programme is running during the day but moving forward there will also be an evening option available.
